The vetfone
helpline provides help and advice
at three levels:
- Recorded information listing a
wide range of topics on the health and well-being
of pets (click TOPICS for
the full list). All messages - average duration
3 minutes - are written and updated by experienced
vets. After listening to a message you have the
option of talking on a one-to-one basis with a veterinary
nurse.
- Live chat. Speak to a veterinary
nurse about your pet, but remember he or she can
only give general advice.
- Consultation with vet. If you don't
have a vet of your own, we can refer you to one
- wherever you are in the UK.
So when you call the vetfone
helpline you can choose either
to listen to a recorded message or speak directly to
a veterinary nurse. Either way, have a pen and paper
handy to write down useful advice or contact details.
If the veterinary nurse
thinks it best if your pet is seen by a vet, we will
advise you to contact your own veterinary practice.
If you are not registered with a practice, we will give
you the names and telephone numbers of vets in your
area or refer you to one approved by us.
Either way, we want to
ensure your pet receives the best possible care as quickly
as possible.
